This is one of THE MOST IMPORTANT piece’s of information you will EVER hear regarding Uni!

Are you ready???

Your first year of University is THE MOST IMPORTANT YEAR!

“What!?” I hear you say, “I thought the first year of Uni usually doesn’t count towards your degree classification!?”
Yes, that’s right, it doesn’t, but it is the foundation and stepping stone into the next couple of years of your course!

Let me make one thing clear, If you don’t do well and APPLY YOURSELF in your FIRST YEAR, YOU MAKE THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS VERY DIFFICULT FOR YOURSELF!

A good builder wouldn’t build a house on weak foundations, so don’t base your degree on weak foundations. Weak foundations mean whatever
goes on top of your first year i.e. your ensuing couple of years, won’t be as strong if you perform poorly in your first year.

Speaking from experience here, what doesn’t happen is that you suddenly start to work harder in your second year, or even your third year.

So what I’m saying is, start as you mean to go on. Work hard in your first year and achieve a 2:1 or higher, this will stand you in good stead for the
rest of your University life. Don’t spend your time catching up, keep up with your workload.
